I’m a Judge for the Simplicity Star Sewist blogger challenge

I feel really honoured to have been asked onto an illustrious judging group for an exciting new online sewing challenge- The Simplicity Star Sewist blogger challenge.  There’s still time to enter!!

 

 

I’m joining one of my favourite Beez, Lauren Guthrie– Finalist in series 1, a sewing entrepreneur and superstar! Also on the panel is Sewing Guru Wendy Gardiner, whose credentials would fill this blog alone, she’s the resident expert for Simplicity patterns. The line up is completed by  Vintage Life Magazine editor, Rachel Egglestone – Evans.

 

Winners will receive a years supply of sewing patterns from Simplicity!

 

To enter the competition you need to have a sewing blog. Don’t worry, that juts means a public online space where you share your sewing stories, They’re easy and free to set up, so you can get something online really quickly! Then you need to e mail simplicity and apply via this page

There are 3 categories, so there’s something for everyone.

Category 1– Best Dressmaking

 

This is a great pattern that will give aspiring Dressmakers a blank canvas to showcase their stye and personality. It’s a straightforward project, covering some of the rudimentary skills you need for every dressmaking project, making it perfect for this category.

This reproduction of an original vintage simplicity pattern is as elegant now as it was back in the 60’s when it was first released. There are several options, and you can make it sleeveless or with the slim fitted sleeves that are included in the pattern

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Simplicity-2286-pattern-1Category 3– Best newcomer

Simplicity didn’t want any brand new stitchers to feel left out, so there’s a beginners category just for you. The pattern is a simple “learn to sew” skirt, with a partially elasticated waistband. You can go to town with your fabric, and really style up this skirt with a contemporary modern hem length and a fabulous top.
