After not having a teaching space for a few years, I have teamed up with the renowned haberdashers William Gee in Dalston . For now we just have beginners and freestyle session, but more workshops to come, watch this space…

Machine intro: Make friends with your sewing machine.

Learn all the vitals on this Essential Sewing Machine Workshop.

If you’ve never used a sewing machine (or just need a top-up!), then this workshop’s for you! Under my friendly, expert guidance  you’ll get a masterclass on everything you need to know to become sewing machine confident. Starting at the very beginning, you’ll learn everything you’ll need in order to use a sewing machine for the first time.

What you’ll learn on this workshop:

– Sewing Machine anatomy
– How to wind and fill a bobbin, and insert into a machine
– Master threading the machine and drawing up the bobbin
– Understand the two most commonly used stitches
– Sewing forwards in straight lines, wavy lines and turning corners
– Sew simple seams
– Learn how to neaten seams with a zig zag stitch
– Experiment with different machine stitches & settings

Enjoy the use of our large cutting tables & machines in an open-format, tutor-led session – perfectly crafted just for you!

“Space to Sew & Cut, with a tutor on hand”

If a fixed format class is not your style, and you’d like to bring your own project and get help if needed, then these sessions are just what you need. With large cutting tables (3m x 2m tables), Janome Machines and Over-lockers at the ready, you’ll get an experienced dressmaking tutor and all the equipment you need to cut and sew your project, your way!
