So What exactly is a Sew-Cation?
The weekend is completely open format so anyone can attend at ANY skill level from total beginner, keen quilter to an advanced dressmaker. There are two very experienced sewing tutors available over the weekend to help you trouble-shoot fitting, tricky techniques including bag making/quilting as well as dressmaking. Other than alcohol, everything is included.
We set up a sewing room with irons, ironing boards, pressing tools and some basic supplies like interfacing and pattern paper that can be purchased. You can also hire machines if you don’t want to bring one. You’ll bring all you need for the projects you plan to work on.
Imagine nearly 3 days of sewing time, uninterrupted by cooking, washing up or having to clear away your sewing space for something else……
The venues
All our venues are designated conference/event centres set in the countryside. The accommodation is all en-suite single occupancy ( either in a double bedded room or a twin room).
There is lots of food included in the package, with 2 x breakfast buffets, 3 x 2 course hot lunches and 2 x 3 course a la cart dinners.
There is also tea and coffees available throughout the day and a nice bar area to chill in the evenings. All hotels have small swimming pools and jacuzzis.
